Woah. DJ AM & Travis Barker involved in a plane crash

Travis Barker, a former Drummer for Blink 182, and DJ AM are in critical condition after the plane they were flying on went off the runway and crashed. Four other people aboard the plane were killed.

According to TMZ, Barker is severely burned from the waist down but is expected to survive. DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Michael Goldstein is being treated for burns on his face. The two were transported to a burn center in Augusta, Georgia where they are listed in critical condition.

Barker and Goldstien apparently saved their own lives by jumping out the door of the burning plane. Barker's assistant Chris Baker, 29 was one of the 4 people who died in the crash. He was newly married with a newborn baby.

The other three who did not survive were pilot Sarah Lemmon, co-pilot James Bland and Charles Still.

Barker is famous for his drum work in the Band Blink 182 and his reality show "Meet the Barkers" with on again off again ex-wife and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler.

Goldstien was once engaged to reality star and socialite Nicole Richie.

Barker performed Friday night at an event with Perry Farrell, Gavin DeGraw, and DJ AM.

The FAA said the plane carrying six people was departing when an air traffic controller reported seeing sparks. The plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.

The plane was going to Van Nuys, CA.

'The Way I See It' is Raphael Saadiq has mastered how to evoke nostalgia through his music. Listening to his album is like stepping into a time capsule and traveling back to the 1960s. Through his vintage sound and look Raphael Saadiq really defines classic soul/r&b for you:
timeless. Timeless in its sense that one, like Saadiq, can produce a classic of a past era. Why can't we have more artists like Saadiq? The album dropped on September 16th, be sure to purchase/digital download it, I'm sure you will never stop listening to it.

Common & Pharrell 'The Eye' Live

I really do not know what to make of these new Common tracks. They're not terrible tracks by any means but it seems like he is under performing what he is capable of. This one though seems like it MIGHT be alright, but whats really annoying me is Pharrell. I love the dude on his own and I love Com on his own, but them 2 together just doesn't work for me. I was irked by Kanye's constant presence on BE & Finding Forever, and now it seems like Pharrell is going to dominate this album. BLEH.

Imagine if the Beatles circa Yellow Submarine got down with Breakestra. What sort of collaboration might that produce? THIS is it. Stones Throw's Koushik has seeped out material for the few years he has been on the label. From his Madvillain remixes to his tracks from BBall Zombie War. I must say though that this is altogether his best work. Out My Window is a funky but trippy adventure through the mind of a musical genius. Reverberating cymbals and nod inducing drum patterns seem to come across powerful yet subdued by smooth vocals. This is undoubtedly my album for (not of) the summer, nice and relaxed. Digital version of the album is out now. Vinyl & CD release date is September 30 on Stones Throw Records

Jake One & Muhsinah 'You'

So as I'm frustratingly trying to steal internet from my neighbors this jam comes up on the iTunes. 20 minutes later it's still playing. How is that possible? some of you may ask. Its possible cause it's been on HEAVY repeat. Bold font means business. This summer Muhsinah and Jake One connected at the Red Bull Music Academy in Toronto and put down this amazing track. Muhsinah's vocals are absolutely beautiful. She reminds me a lot of Tiombe Lockhart. Shes also featured on Foreign Exchange's latest single 'Daykeeper' and I definitely hope to hear a lot more from her.

--Sene talks about Elevator Music in a recent interview with Rhyme House

"Rhyme House: From Pavement Special to 2008’s Beautifully Ugly EP, what has been your honestly feel like Elevator Music is the LatePass. For those who don’t have the tfavorite solo record so far? How have you grown as an artist from album to album?

Sene: Sounds crazy, but if you look at how those albums are constructed and who I worked with, as well as to what extent, I dont really feel I’ve put out a solo album yet. Pavement Special and Beautifully Ugly (*07) were spillovers from “GarbagePailKids.” People had heard what was getting done on those projects and wanted in, so a few more records were cut and licensed in different regions. Some of those releases have one or two of the same songs on them. Believe it or not, I would have to say the last free release is the closest I’ve gone to a solo full length release. Labels would lynch me for only promoting my free release, but Iime, or care enough to hunt all those projects down, as they are imports of some sort, this is a compilation of tracks that i think help explain who I am, as well as show some of my range, plus it’s free!...Continue reading interview"

Seattle native "super" producer, Jake One has an impressive wrap sheet for someone who has gone under the radar for a number of years. He has produced for De La Soul to Strange Fruit Project to 50 Cent. His freshman effort entitled White Van Music seemed like a sure shot to impress. The features alone are absolutely unheard of. Slug (Atmosphere) and Posdnous (De La Soul) on the same track? Freeway and Brother Ali? Upon first listen I was VERY impressed. The album is absolutely nothing I expected. The production on each track seems as different as apples and meatloaf but they all seem to mesh together quite nicely. This album is definitely going to be on rerun for a little while. The album releases as a double disc October 7 on Rhymesayers Entertainment.

Hate It or Love It? - Charles Hamilton

Charles Hamilton is somewhat the latest craze. His style reminds me A LOT of Kid Cudi. But the difference is I instantly dug Cudi, Not so much the same with Hamilton. A lot of the tracks I've listened to have been VERY much hit or miss. His voice can be very annoying and the whole pink and video game thing is kinda played. But with tracks like 'The N Word' and 'Free Download' it's hard to completely to write this dude off. He makes his own beats and then has the audacity to rhyme over them in whatever way he sees fit, not conforming to anybodys style but his own. What say ye crew?

Keep It Ghet-to With The Plastic Cups.

The latest single dropped from Big Pooh's album Rapper's Delight which drops next week. The track features fellow Justus League members Chaundon & Joe Scudda. Pretty nice track, it's over J Dilla's 'Gobstoppers' which is one of my fav joints from Donuts. Only downside is Joe Scudda is on the track. =/

Hate It or Love It? - Kanye Wests 'Love Lockdown'

Kanye West released his first single from his upcoming album 808's & Heartbreak, which will be his first major release to veer away from the school theme. It's eerie adoption of T-Pain's vocoder effect left me wondering what the f*ck Ye is thinking. Sure he's a talented producer and anything he touches has a pretty good chance of becoming a hit, but why does he think he can try his hand at singing? I mean the intro to the song is kind of cool. I was waiting for the beat to drop into some Stronger type stuff but the drop never came!. Whats even worse is word on the street is the entire album will be like this. Has this man lost his mind? whats the verdict, DLH?

HATE IT

88 Keys - Stay Up (Viagra) Featuring Kanye West

This track is kinda old but I never really listened to it until last night. Let me just say that Kanye has been pretty iffy as of late, especially his new single 'Love Lockdown' (which is complete ASS) entitled 808's & Heartbreak. I must admit though that he's pretty entertaining on this track. Nice flow, nice wordplay.

New Foreign Exchange

Foreign Exchange (Phonte + Nicolay) have just released the first single from their upcoming album Leave It All Behind, which releases in later in the year.

The track is a complete sidestep from what you've heard before from FE. Phonte puts his vocal talents to work for this completely chill track. Definitely something to toss on when you're kicking back with your lady or your mans n'em. Click the cover to take you there.

New Premier

I have no clue whatsoever where this track is from, but what I do know is that it goes pretty hard. Premier does it again!
